Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival In Kathmandu (1,300m/4,593ft)
Upon our arrival in the Kathmandu airport, we will be greeted by a representative from Asian Vistaas. After completing our custom formalities (Visa, etc) and pick up our luggage their representative with a Asian Vistaas display board is waiting outside the arrival gate. We will be then transferred to our hotel.
The afternoon is free to relax or explore the surrounding area before a representative of Asian Vistaas will meet us at the hotel and take us out for a Welcome Cultural Dinner at a local Charity Restaurant
(Note: for late arrivals you will be taken straight to your hotel for the night)

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing and overnight
Kathmandu Sightseeing and overnight in Nagarkot (2,195m/7,201ft):
Today we wake early (7:00am) for a guided tour of the Asan Tole Bazaar. We start with a light breakfast at Black Olives café before we join the chaotic streets of Kathmandu and make our way south towards the bazaar. It is not a traditional tourist destination as such, but an opportunity to be immersed in the life of Nepalese people as they shop for daily necessities.
After this visit we break at the hotel before we make our way to visit the Narayanhity Palace Museum. Don’t bother bringing your camera, phone, backpack or even bubble gum!!! they are all strictly prohibited.
Late in the afternoon we will be transported to the historic Nagarkot hill station for an overnight stay.

Day 03 Nagarkot Sunrise, Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery, Namo Buddha (1,750m/5,741ft):
This morning we wake to watch the sun rise over the horizon to reveal the grandeur of the Eastern Himalayas including the snowcapped peaks of Mt Everest, After breakfast we make our way to the largest Shiva monument in the world, Kailashnath Mahadeu which stands at a height of 108 feet – after the holy number 108 in Hindu Mythology. From here we make your way to Namo Buddha if we are lucky we may hear the hauntingly beautiful chants of the Tibetan monks at prayer at the Thragu Tashi Yangtse Monastery before learning about the story of the Namo Buddha, we descend the mountain to the ancient Newari village of Panauti (Choose either the comfortable drive or the beautiful 90 minute walk through the forests and farmlands of the Kathmandu Valley). Panauti feels like you have been transported back in time as you walk the streets that are little changed in hundreds of years.
After wandering the streets we are transported back to Kathmandu for the night.

DAY 04: Fly to Pokhara and sightseeing
25 minute flight
After breakfast we will be taken to the airport for our short flight to Pokhara.
This afternoon we will visit the Devi’s falls and the Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave complex before ascending to the beautiful World Peace Pagoda with its magnificent views over the Annapurna Ranges then back to Pokhara for some free time to relax or shop for last minute items before dinner

Day 05: Drive to Ghandruk
4 hour bus ride, plus 60 minute walk
This morning we take a to local bus from Pokhara to Ghandruk, a beautiful village perched on a hillside and inhabited by the Gurung community. If time permits, we also visit the Gurung museum today.

Day 06: Drive to Pokhara
2 hour jeep ride.
Today we wake early to watch the sun rise over the Annapurna ranges and enjoy or breakfast with an amazing backdrop. We ascend to the highest point in Ghandrak for one last look at the view before making our way back on foot to the road head to meet our jeep for our ride back to Pokhara.
This afternoon we then visit the International mountain museum and if the weather favours us the Bindhyabasini Temple with it backdrop of the Annapurna ranges.

Day 07: Pokhara
Today is a day of leisure in Pokhara where you can relax at the hotel, go shoping, take a walk along the famed lake fewa or arrange to partake in some of the adventure activities that Pokhara is famours for. (Paragliding, ziplining, white water rafting and mountain biking are just some of the activities available to those more adventerous.)

Day 8: Drive to Bandipur
3 – 4 hour drive.
This morning we drive to Bandipur. The village retains its traditional feel with temples, shrines, sacred caves and preserved Newari architecture. A former strategic trading post on the route from India, Bandipur grew its wealth from trading musk pods, animals, tobaco and glassware and other goods and such wealth can been in its shopfronts, temple and historical houses. Luckly Bandipur was bypassed by the Kathmandu to Pokhara highway and thus has been able to maintain its distinctive character that harks back to a bygone era.
We visit the catherdral like interior of the Siddha Gufa cave before zig zaging up the hillside to our destination.
This afternoon you are free to roam the village to view the various temples and himalayan view vantage points.

Day 9: Drive to Chitwan National Park
3 – 4 hour drive.
After breakfast we travel overland to Chitwan national park. Once settled into your room we take you a local village tour. Once night fall we entertain you with local cultural performances

Day 10: Chitwan National Park
After breakfast you get a full day safari activities including Jeep safari, canoe trip, elephant bathing at the breeding centre and a jungle walk. During the safari you will spot many types of deer, monkeys, leopards, crocodiles and if you are lucky rhinoceroses, and the elusive bengal tiger

Day 11: Drive to Kathmandu
5 – 6 hour drive.
After breakfast we make our way by road to Kathmandu.
Your afternoon is free to wander the streets of Kathmandu, take a rickshaw ride, relax or do some shopping.

Day 12: Kathmandu
After breakfast we make our way to Swayumbhanath (the monkey temple) and climb the 365 steps to the stupa offering a birds eye view of the Kathmandu valley. (You can also stay in the van and be driven to the top car park if you prefer. Next stop is the goulishly bazaar Natual History Museum with it cases of taxiderm Nepalese fauna. We then make our way through the backstreets to Durbar Square where we can learn about the culture, history and religion of Nepal. We spend the afternoon at the Nepal cooking school (a local charity) to learn how to make delicious local cuisine and best of all to sample our creations so leave plenty of room to eat your creations

Day 13: Kathmandu
After breakfast we make our way to the ancient newali city of Patan (now part of the sprawling city of greater Kathmandu) to visit this kingdoms own Durbar Square and the Patan museum. After a few hours we continue to the famous Boddhanath Stupa for a rooftop lunch before joining the throng of pilgrims to circumnavigate the stupa three times in a clockwise direction for good luck. We finish the afternoon with a visit to Pashupatinath temple complex and can sit an view the open air cremation ceremonies of the local Hindu population.
We finish the day with a dinner and cultural show

Day 14: Final Departure
Our journey in Nepal comes to an end today! A Asian Vistaas representative will drop you off at the airport approximately 3 hours before our scheduled flight.
